On our 10-12 hour charter fishing trips we are still catching Scamp Grouper, Cobia, Bull
Vermillion Snapper, and a veriety of Jack’s on our bottom fishing trips. These fish are deep water fish that’s why it requires a longer charter fishing trip. They are all very good table fare with Scamp grouper being at the top. We use live bait and some cut bait to catch these delicacies. The Scamps don’t fight much but the Cobia and Jacks put up a good fight. Time to go fishing, call 850-837-9734.

The Scamp Grouper and Amberines bite is hot. We are catching Amberines and Scamp on our 8 and 10 hr charter fishing trips. Amberines are like an Amberjack but only smaller. They are good eating and put up a good fight. Scamp are in the grouper family and are usually caught in deep water, 200 feet or better. What they don’t have in fight they make up in table fare. They are considered some of the best eating of all fish we catch in the Gulf. To fish for these fish requires a 10 to 12 hr charter fishing trip. The spring fishing season continues to be great. It’s May now and we are catching Blackfin Tuna, Cobia, King Mackerel, Amberines (Jack’s), Scamp Grouper and Triggerfish. There have been a few Wahoo and Mahi-Mahi caught too. The longer charter fishing trips have offered all of the above fish and the shorter trips are offering King Mackerel and reef fish, Vermillion Snappers, etc.
